Welcome to Heizler's Flambeau Forest Campground
Heizler's Flambeau Forest Campground is located in the heart of the Flambeau River State Forest in northern Wisconsin. We are only two miles from the North Fork of the Flambeau River, home to the very large Muskies seen on this website. We are eight miles from the South Fork of the Flambeau, where you will find challenging rapids and great fishing. The Flambeau River State Forest is home to a wide range of wildlife including: deer, elk, eagles, ruffed grouse, ducks, geese, fishers, otter, beaver, to name a few. Our campground is on beautiful Lake of the Pines which is about three miles long and half of a mile wide, and most of the shoreline is owned by the state of Wisconsin. It is adjoined by Connors Lake with a scenic passageway between the two lakes that is about a quarter of a mile long.
An excellent bar/restaurant is within walking distance of the campground. There is an additional bar/restaurant located two miles west of the campground.
Our campground is located next to the ATV/UTV trail system that allows you to travel hundreds of miles.
A public boat landing is located on the north end of Lake of the Pines. There are locations to tie up your boat on our property.
